CAROLLING! wow. when we had our
first little reunion of the Choir Kids at Eat N Park (of course) after
we all got home for break, I mentioned that I wanted to do it again if
anyone else was up for it. Big surprise that with the option of being
together, and singing together nonetheless, the plans went through.
December 21st, the celebration of the 20th year since the birth
of one of the people who has most blessed my life, 9 friends went out
singing to celebrate and prepare for the festival of the 2005th year
since the birth of the One who blessed all of our lives
We sang at Latrobe Care Center, then a nice rendition of "We wish you a
Merry Kristie" and "Kristie Bells" for poor mono-ed Kristie.
SO bummed she couldn't be wish us, especially since that means she was
sick. But after that we made our way to my Gramas, where the rest of my
family was +Aunt Bib. They all shed a tear, as did I almost every song
because, well, Kids, you never let me down. You sounded fantastic.
THEN, we went to St. Vincent to see the Nativity and ended up singing
there for at least 45 minutes, in the empty Church with the excellent
echoing acoustics. We also spoke to Fr. Tom and explained what we were
doing there. And as we went aroung the group saying where we all went
to school (not a single one the same) and the years we graduated (3
years, and we had Nick, too. a different HS), I couldn't help but
realize how blessed I am to have you ALL. We may not all talk all the
time at our colleges, I know I may be the worst about that (PLEASE,
yell at me and talk to me more!), but there is a love in that
group that is so strong and lasting. You are all dear to me, and I
really hope you know it!
So as we sang I couldn't help
but wish that someone else was there to hear. But of course someone
was. On such an occaison, with such special and wonderful people,
celebrating such a holy and momentous day- who else need hear the music
besides Jesus, God, and the population of Heaven? The Choir Kids make
me feel closer to the Lord, and closer to very Life than much else
does, if anything. Thank you all so very much.
Then, we had Birthday cake for
my girl, and played What If and got to catch up and hang out for a
while.:) But you're probably tired of me gushing, so I'llmove on. My
Christmas was beautiful. I went to midnight Mass with my Mom and Erin
because Jamie was singing. Her voice has just gotten so lovely, and the
mass itself was the same. I love incense, and there was plenty of it.
Incense at Mass to me just serves as inspiration, and a reminder as I
watch it rise to be good and strong in hopes to rise as well.
After Mass we slept and woke up to do presents at our house. Anymore
I like watching everyone else more than doing my own, and I was
quite excited by how much Jamie liked hers. We next went to my Grama
Josie's and spent the afternoon with Dad's side and went to Greentree
to my Grama Wallace's in the evening. Every year I feel more greatful
that I have such a close family. We are all certainly different people
with different lives and different thoughts, but we all come together
with so much love in one room and always have a wonderful time. Stayed
at Grama Wallace's and we just got back a little bit ago. I must get
going, but
Merry Christmas to all, keep the reason in mind! And best wishes into the New Year!!
